World's tiniest Bluetooth dongle

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week, Newton Peripherals debuted the world's smallest USB Bluetooth dongle, ideal for owners of older iBook and PowerBook models.

The MoGo Dapter is smaller than a thumbnail, making it discreet and portable while virtually eliminating any chance of it being knocked out or causing damage to the USB port. The MoGo Dapter will be available in the second quarter for $49.95.

In addition, the company was showing off its new MoGo Mouse X54, a unique wireless Bluetooth mouse that charges and stores itself in a laptop's Express Card/54 slot. Mac users are unfortunately left out, however, as the MacBook Pro features a smaller ExpressCard/34 slot.

Similar to the original PCMCIA MoGo Mouse BT (compatible with PowerBooks), the MoGo Mouse X54 bends to form a usable Bluetooth mouse with two buttons. The X54 model improves on the original design by adding a touch-sensitive scroll pad; it is also scheduled to ship in the second quarter for $79.95; the MoGo Mouse BT remains available for $69.95.
