UPDATE - Screen Shots of Parallels' Coherence Feature

by , 12:30 PM EST, January 16th, 2007

On Monday, TMO published some details of a new feature in Parallels Desktop called Coherence. Coherence is a new feature that allows Windows apps to run on the Mac OS X desktop -- without the Windows desktop visible.

Parallels has provided the following screen shots that demonstrate how Coherence looks.

When you drag the coherence windows... you get some blinkiness... you see the OS under the windows a bit, but it's not a major issue. It's obvious (besides the horrible windows nav bits) that it's not a Mac window.

Check out the compatibility. Right now it costs more to run Parallels (requires OS Purchase) but most apps (excepting fancy 3-d games & junk) don't require any type of compatibility check... unlike Xover.
