Adobe Plans CS3 Event for March 27 [UPDATED]

Adobe Plans CS3 Event for March 27 [UPDATED]

by , 9:50 AM EST, March 5th, 2007

Adobe is planning a special launch event for its Creative Suite 3 package on March 27 in New York City. The even is scheduled for 3:30 PM east coast time, and the company is calling it "the largest software release in Adobe's 25-year history."

The launch event will be webcast live, and will detail new product features as well as Creative Suite configurations. As part of the build up to the announcements, Adobe has released a teaser video on YouTube. The video is part of Adobe's "What's In the Box" campaign, but doesn't reveal any product information.

Adobe Creative Suite 3 will include Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and is expected to replace Adobe GoLive with Dreamweaver. All Creative Suite 3 applications will be Universal Binary, allowing them to run natively on PowerPC and Intel-based Macs.

[Thanks to Macworld UK for the heads up.]

I an all seriousness I hope that they put some restrictions on Flash. Those all Flash web sites can be annoying as hell. Everything in moderation.

Is the ad campaign only in the UK? There's no mention on Adobe's web site and the domain "whatisinthebox.com" is apparently owned by a squatter.

Restrictions on flash, what would be the point? Flash is only as good or bad as the designers. I agree that there are plenty of terrible flash sites, but there are plenty of terrible & unusable HTML + CSS sites as well.
