Apple to Open First Store In Italy

Apple Inc. is opening its first retail store in Italy on Saturday, March 31. The store is in Rome's Roma Est mall, and will open its doors at 9:00 a.m. local time. The first 1,000 visitors will get Apple T-shirts, and a series of events celebrating the grand opening are scheduled for all week.

Apple is also giving away one grand prize that includes a MacBook, 4GB iPod nano, and more. For a complete list of events and directions to Italy's first Apple Store, visit the Apple Retail Italy Web site.

Worst location possible for a premium electronics store in the Rome area. Far away from the wealthy areas of the city, accessible only by car, and not a prestigious area.

Somebody at Apple Retail has been conned in choosing this location.
