TidBITS publishing announced a new book in its "Take Control" series on Tuesday, The Mac OS X Lexicon.

"Anyone who has ever felt uncertain about technical jargon can now get help with the latest Take Control ebook, Take Control: The Mac OS X Lexicon. The ebook takes readers on a mad romp through over 500 Macintosh- and Internet-related terms," according to Tanya Engst.

The book is loaded with useful tips and humor, takes on topics like the difference between composite and component cables, how to figure out which optical drive you need for a DVD+RW-DL disc and what's special about the numbers 404 and 501 on the Internet.

The Mac OS X Lexicon (eBook)

The 191 page eBook, Take Control: The Mac OS X Lexicon, is immediately available in PDF format and is priced at US$15.00. A free 39 page sample is available.
