Steve Jobs to Appear at Mac Media Event
by , 1:50 PM EDT, August 3rd, 2007
Even though the Mac and iPod maker is being typically coy about what it may announce, it did let slip that Apple CEO Steve Jobs will be appearing at the company's special "Mac focused" media event on Tuesday, August 7, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The company is holding a special product briefing at its Cupertino campus on Tuesday, August 7 at 10AM pacific time. Unlike other events where the company offers cleverly disguised hints in the form of catchy phrases or graphics, this briefing announcement came only with the information that Apple would be discussing something Mac related.
The Mac Observer will be on location covering the event.

These are "Old Style" fries.
What is to be announced? It is supposed to be "Mac related" so that probably rules out a new iPod or iPhone. It must be a new a new Mac, maybe an entire new line up of Pro, iMac, and portable models. With Steve Jobs being there, it must be more ust an announcement that OSX 10.5 is being released earlier than October.

"Her sister is Bobbie Jo."
No, I think it's her brother, Billie Joe MacAllister, and he jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge...Phew, glad we got that settled.
I vote for displays with TV tuners built in, and a rack in the base for an Apple TV, Mac Mini or an AE Extreme. Oh, and Apple TV now has more Tivo-like abilities.

No man, Billy Joe, who jumped off the bridge, was her lover. It was her brother who "recollected" incidents from Billy Joe's life before the suicide...far more tragic than the always upbeat world of Apple Inc...
Did any of them make fries?
I didn't think so. It could the that Billy Joe jumped after having Julian's fries and realized that that was the best life could offer him.
Real shame, he never tasted my Chicken Florentine soup.
What I REALLY think will show up Tuesday is iMacs or a new type of Mac. (Say "Hello" one more time!)

I have been pondering the upcoming announcement. I wonder if we are "looking at" among other things new monitors to be announced. Something using the touch screen technology of the iPhone. Of course there is the ergonomics of using a touch screen on a desktop monitor.
At the very least glass covers that are not as delicate as the current LCD models.
Hmmm, tablet Macbooks.
Too early to announce a touch screen anything. It was just introduced in the iPhone. I predict at least one more year for that.
Obviously we're in for an updated iLife package announcement only to complement Leopard. A sneak peak at the remaining Leopard features coming will happen, without a doubt.
Certainly some raves about how well iPhone and Apple TV have been, but no special announcements regarding them after that.
The hardware is certainly doing so well, that I can't see anything "new" coming out there. Maybe just some faster machines. We've pretty much got as thin as possible. The Mac is already as dead simple as possible, and that's what Apple's tradition dictates.
Just trying to be reasonable with the whole thing. Really, I think the WHOLE show is going to be devoted to Leopard.
