iMac: Disassembled

iMac: Disassembled

by , 8:50 AM EDT, August 9th, 2007

For some, it's not enough just to have the latest iMac, they have to take it apart, too. Luckily for everyone that isn't quite ready to throw away the warranty on their new glass and aluminum wonder, one blogger photographed the entire process and put the images online.

Kodawarisan tears down a new iMac.

The photos show just how tight Apple packs the components inside the iMac, and even though the take apart appears to go smoothly, it shows why the average user shouldn't go mucking around inside their Apple all-in-one.

Hate to see a new machine ripped apart like that. Hope he remembers where are the screws go. And is the glass glued on?

MORE IMPORTANTLY: why in the world would this be the only way to get to your hard drive! C'mon Apple, this seems like a step backwards.
