.Mac Updated Ahead of Leopard Launch
by , 8:30 AM EDT, October 22nd, 2007
Apple began rolling out updates to its .Mac service over the weekend presumably to add new Mac OS X 10.5-specific features. The update requires Mac OS X 10.4.10, and Mac OS X 10.3.9 or earlier users will no longer have the ability to sync calendars with Mac OS X 10.4 users.
As of Monday morning, .Mac sync services were still temporarily unavailable or operating in a limited capacity for all users. Additional information is available at the Apple Support and Apple Discussion Web sites.
.Mac will offer several Leopard-specific features including the ability to synchronize application and system preferences, Mail Notes, Dock items, and Dashboard widget preferences between multiple Macs.
Observer Comments
it has been officially declared that 10.4.10 is trashing machines right and left, not to mention the new bugs in iTunes, we're praying that 10.4.11 is a savior update and not the disaster that 10.4.10 is. Otherwise, it's up to Leopard to come to the rescue as 10.4 did when they sabotaged 10.3.8-9. But the last Dev version of Leopard (9A559) that I used was still very buggy, so another prayer that Leopard will be a savior and not a sin.

Who "officially declared" this, farmerbob? I have 5 machines in the house very happily running 10.4.10. i don't know of anybody that is having issues amongst the several Mac users with whom I am acquainted. If it is the unmitigated disaster you claim it is, I should know of at least one person who is having issues (just by sheer statistics).
Nice attempt at FUD, though. You've been doing that a lot lately.
