MacBU Offers BFD Offer for Mac Office

MacBU Offers BFD Offer for Mac Office

by , 3:05 PM EST, November 21st, 2007

Microsoft's Mac Business Unit (MacBU) announced Wednesday the BFD -- the Best Friday Deal. The BFD allows those who purchase Office 2004 for Mac on Friday November 23rd to get a US$100 rebate and a free copy of Office 2008 for Mac when it is released, plus shipping costs.

The offer requires you to download a coupon from Microsoft, and send it in to the company with accompanying proofs of purchase. Microsoft was already offering free upgrades to Office 2008 for Mac with the purchase of the current version, which means the BFD adds the $100 rebate.

The MacBU said that the coupon would be available on the SuperSuite Deal Web page on Friday, November 23rd, the day of the offer. If you wish to download it before then, the company provided TMO with a direct download link. A MacBU spokesperson also clarified for us that you can purchase Office 2004 for Mac from any retailer, as long as it is the full retail boxed version of the software. Amazon is currently offering the Standard Edition for $299.99.

The specifics of the BFD:

Acquire the following Office 2004 for Mac boxed product on Friday, November 23 and receive:

Buy Get

Office 2004 for Mac Standard Edition

  • $100 U.S. mail-in rebate
  • Office 2008 for Mac Special Media Edition (plus the cost of shipping and handling)

The offer only applies to the USA and not to anyone in the rest of the world.

I am sure that that there are deals only available in Europe, Asia, Oceania, or where ever. Unlocked iPhones for example.

Thank you for sending us your emigrants

For those who have to use MS Office for work reasons (or whatever), this is actually a really good deal.

I just bought a copy to give to my in-laws (who can't afford to buy Office at full price right now). I get the rebate and the new version, they get software they can use right now dirt cheap.

win-win.
