Daniel Schwill announced the immediate availability of Tables 1.4 on Friday. The updated spreadsheet and data organization application added an improved ODF and AppleWorks document importer.

The new version also added the ability to merge cells, dynamically resize sheets, set sheets and cells as protected, color code formula references, and more.

Tables 1.4 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher and is available for download at the Tables Web site. It is priced at Û39 (about US$57.61), and the update is free for licensed users.
