Pantone Launches Color Community Web Sites

Pantone, the company best known for its color standards products, launched two new Web sites on Monday geared towards creative professionals and color enthusiasts. myColor myIdea features creative professionals and the colors they are currently working with, and myPantone.com explores color relationships and the latest Pantone color trend forecasts.

myPantone.com also offers free membership so users can access custom color palettes, tips and tricks, color management information, and more.

"standards."

When Pantone printed its color books, the only system they had was a visual check done by each printer operator. Every color book was slightly different. That's why they dropped their 'matching system' and started pushing their color chips.

Maybe their site has merit, but the PMS sure didn't.
