Apple Rolls Out "Misprint" Get a Mac Ad

by , 10:00 AM EST, December 4th, 2007

Apple added a new Get a Mac commercial to its Web site on Tuesday. Like other recent commercials featuring John Hodgman and PC and Justin Long as Mac, Misprint takes a hard jab at Windows Vista -- this time pointing out that PC World says the Mac can run Windows faster than PCs. The commercial is available in QuickTime format in several resolutions including HD.

They need to realize people are reverting back to XP. Vista's no threat. It's a sinking ship.

They need to realize? Er, you must have missed the trio of recent Get A Mac ads that each made the point about "downgrading" to XP.

and does not knock MS Windows Vista.
It just dumps on something vaguely referred to as a "PC".

Really a pretty pro-microsoft ad, ain't it? Really, it's knocking Dell and the like pretty hard.

I'd say the ad was pro Macintosh. As in the hardware and neutral on the operating system. That's the beauty of having the PC guy. He can represent Vista, Microsoft or Dell/HP/Gateway etc.

Apple gets to sell computers, even if you want to run Windows...

These adds are getting stupid. All they do is poke fun at Windows. Big deal. How about telling people what a Mac can do for them for a change? All these adds do is paint Macs as a computer for smart a** users.

PS: I have a Mac... but these commercials alone would never have made me a switcher.

Saying that the Mac runs Windows more effectively than a PC doesn't give performance information??

The article by PC World said that the MacBook Pro ($2400+ variant) was the fastest laptop they had tested running Windows Vista. That said, Apple's single largest growing market share is the laptop market, which is the only product segment I'd even think of buying a prefab computer out of, it's just not pratical to build your own laptop.

Anyone who just wants a desktop should build their own. It's cheaper, faster, better.

And not in the skill set of the vast majority of computer users.
