Apple Store Offline

Apple's online retail store went off line early Tuesday morning and was replaced with the familiar "We'll be back soon" note. The Mac, iPod and iPhone maker typically shuts down its Web-based store when adding new products, but considering that Steve Jobs's keynote address -- also a traditional new product event -- is only a week away, today's outage may be maintenance related.


New goodies, or just maintenance?

Looks like they bumped all Mac Pro to 8-processors. Does this mean there might be something really special for the keynote next week???

As Guest noted, there are new Mac Pros. The Xserve has also been updated.

Makes you wonder if we'll see a quad-core iMac at Macworld.

8-core Mac Pros standard. 2 Quad core xeons (45-nm Penryn).
Very nice. Just waiting on the store to come back up to see pricing.
