TMO at MWSF - IOGEAR Intros Dual-Link DVI KVMP Switch
by , 1:35 PM EST, January 14th, 2008
SAN FRANCISCO -- IOGEAR unveiled its new Dual-Link DVI KVMP & MultiMedia Switch at Macworld Expo 2008 on Monday. The two-port switch supports sharing a Dual-Link DVI display, USB keyboard, mouse, and surround sound audio system with two computers.
The switch supports DVI resolutions up to 3840 x 2400, 7.1 surround sound systems, can pass through HDCP signals, and lets users toggle KVM, USB peripherals, and audio ports independently.
The Dual-Link DVI KVMP & MultiMedia Switch will be available in February for US$399.99.
Observer Comments
I have been using a DVI switch designed for PC's made by AMCONN for two years now. I need two keyboards and mice because it's not USB keyboard compatible and it took a little work to get it running right. It does have USB ports, they just aren't switchable and thus useful for printers and hard drives, but not keyboards. Also, the USB port on the switch must have the cable that comes with it plugged in to the switch or the monitors start cycling though sleep and wake modes. Nevertheless, it works for me and cost only $120 2 years ago.
