by , 10:30 AM EST, January 14th, 2008

SAN FRANCISCO -- Parliant Corp. on Monday introduced PhoneValet Home Edition, which includes key features of the company's PhoneValet Message Center business application. Users can set up specific ring tones for different callers, tell the software to answer solicitation calls and decline them, have their Macs announce the names of callers, and enter calling cards.

With the PhoneValet Anywhere add-on, users can also have messages delivered by email. PhoneValet Home Edition supports up to five unique mailboxes. PhoneValet Anywhere is US$22.50 when added to PhoneValet Home Edition's $49.95 purchase price, if both are bought at the same time.

PhoneValet Home Edition works with any G4, G5, or Intel Mac and Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or greater. It uses either a Mac’s internal modem or Apple’s external USB modem and can share it with dial-up Internet service.
