New Get a Mac Ad Touts Time Machine

by , 11:00 AM EST, January 14th, 2008

Apple introduced a new Get a Mac commercial on Sunday that shows off Leopard's Time Machine. The ad includes John Hodgman in his familiar PC role, and Justin Long as Mac, Mac, Mac, Mac, and Mac.

Apple's Time Machine ad.

Like several prior commercials in the popular Get a Mac campaign, Time Machine touts the benefits of Mac OS X over Microsoft's Windows operating system.

The Mac and PC characters were recently named the best ad-based characters of the year by USATODAY. The characters "masterfully humanize a complex technical comparison," according to the publication.

Time Machine is available on the Apple Web site in the QuickTime format.

It's good to see them talking about Mac features again instead of making PC look like a dufus -- not that the dufus ones weren't funny.

A very good job of explaining a technical feature in 30 seconds.
