SecureMac Announces MacScan Family Pack

by , 4:05 PM EST, January 24th, 2008

SecureMac anounced on Thursday the immediate availability of the MacScan Family Pack. The antispyware software can be installed on up to three computers for only $49.99.

The MacScan Family Pack can be used to upgrade a single user license of MacScan to a three seat license for the difference between the original price and the Family Pack, according to SecureMac.

MacScan quickly detects, isolates and removes spyware from Macintosh computers using both real-time spyware definition updating and unique detection methods. The software also manages internet-related clutter on a Mac.

MacScan 2.5 requires Mac OS X 10.2.4 or later. The MacScan single license is priced at $29.99 and the 3-user Family Pack at US$49.99. A free trial is available.

Depends on who you ask. There are those that claim there are all sorts of spyware and exploits floating around, just that nobody knows about them so they go undetected. Others claim that there are none of either and that there is no need for this type of product.I doubt the first group, but I don't subscribe to the theory that the OS is bulletproof either.

Depends on the peace of mind you garner from it, I suppose.
