iFixit Shares MacBook Air Take Apart

iFixit Shares MacBook Air Take Apart

by , 10:40 AM EST, February 1st, 2008

The Mac parts and upgrade company iFixit didn't waste any time tearing apart a brand new MacBook Air. If you are ready to disassemble yours, but still want to see what it looks like on the inside, check out iFixit's fully documented breakdown.

In Pieces: MacBook Air

The take apart shows exactly how each component fits in the Air's ultra-thin case, highlights the various chips the notebook hides, dives into the display assembly, and lists all the necessary tools for disassembly. Since the procedure will void your warranty, however, watching iFixit pull theirs apart is probably a better idea than cracking into yours.

I'm a service provider for Apple, and have been waiting with anticipation for the Apple service manual to be posted. When I herd that the Air was shipping I thought I would see the service manual the same day, but it hasn't showed up yet. a big well done to iFix it for having this ready so soon!!
