Firmware Update Fixes Missing Keystroke Issue on MacBook, MacBook Pro

Firmware Update Fixes Missing Keystroke Issue on MacBook, MacBook Pro

by , 7:50 AM EST, February 20th, 2008

Apple released MacBook, MacBook Pro Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0 on Tuesday. The update addressed an issue where the first key press after the computer had been sitting idle could be ignored.

The update package installs an updater application called Built-in Keyboard Firmware Update into the Applications/Utilities directory. When run, the updater offers onscreen instructions that explain how to complete the firmware update process.

Apple's keyboard firmware update application.

The updater requires Mac OS X 10.5.2 and is available via the Software Update application, or as a downloadable installer at the Apple Support Web site.

Ummm... This is a MB/MBP issue that has nothing to do with the G4 iMacs.

rong. I can show you at least 4 different PowerPC and Intel based Macs that do this. Apple has only chosen to fix it on the MB/MBP. Or maybe it is the only ones where they found what the issue really was.
