The Foundry Releases Nuke 5 Compositing Solution Upgrade

The Foundry announced Monday the release of Nuke 5, a major upgrade to the compositing solution. The new version of the software includes a new interface, support for Python scripting, support for stereoscopic workflow, the ability to read, process and write over 1,000 channels per stream, a proxy mode for working with images in a,lower resolution, mask inputs, changes in the timeline viewer, new motion blur features, and a global undo/redo.

Nuke 5 is available now for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. The upgrade is available for free for customers with "valid maintenance." New licenses are priced at US$3,500 / £1,750 with render nodes priced at: $250 / £125. Annual maintenance and support contracts are priced at $1,000 / £500 per GUI license.
