Take Control Releases Leopard Permissions eBook
by , 10:50 AM EST, February 25th, 2008
Take Control Publishing announced Monday the release of Take Control of Permissions in Leopard, a new eBook that, not surprisingly, is aimed at those wanting to learn more about understanding and managing permissions in Mac OS X "Leopard" 10.5.
The 87-page eBook was written by Brian Tanaka, and according to the company, it is a mix of how-tos, troubleshooting tips, and explanation of the Unix theory behind Apple's permissions system. It also has advanced topics like the sticky bit, symbolic versus absolute ways to set permissions, and how to work with bit masks.
The eBook is priced at US$10, and is available for download through Take Control's Web site.
