Warp 1.1 Adds Spaces Preview

Warp 1.1 Adds Spaces Preview

by , 3:05 PM EST, February 29th, 2008

Kent Sutherland has released Warp 1.1 which adds the ability to see a small preview of the Leopard Space the mouse is moving towards. In addition, the new version will no longer activate while a screen saver is running. German and Japanese localizations have been added.

With Leopard's spaces, one can move to a new Space in several ways. Moving the mouse is not one of them. With Warp, a preference pane, the user can slide the mouse to the edge of a screen, see a preview of the Space, then select the Space to move into.

Warp 1.1 requires Mac OS X 10.5/Leopard and is free.

"With Leopard's spaces, one can move to a new Space in several ways. Moving the mouse is not one of them."

Yes it is.

Grab an application's (e.g. Finder-) window, move to an edge of the screen (keep holding the mouse button) - and presto, your moving the window to the next screen. So, Spaces does it already (if you grabbed a window to move) - still, Warp's preview is neat.

You have to move a window to do that. You can't do it just by moving the mouse.
