DiskWarrior 4.1 Update Adds Leopard Support

DiskWarrior 4.1 Update Adds Leopard Support

by , 6:50 PM EDT, March 17th, 2008

Alsoft released DiskWarrior 4.1 Monday, an update that brings full Leopard compatibility to the disk repair utility. The new version includes support for directory hard links, which is part of Leopard's Time Machine feature, and some unspecified improvements in repair speed.

The new version also supports the same Mac models as before, which means it does not boot the most recent Mac Pro, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Xserve models. Check out Alsoft's support site for more information.

You can find the download at Alsoft's Web site.

Please don't get it personally but I've to tell you you're giving a partially misleading info. It's not true that this update doesn't support Air and the other new models. It's the boot CD that doesn't boot on these models, so if owners of these CPUs need to check the internal diskdrive they have to start their mac from an external diskdrive since DiskWarrior cannot repair the startup drive.
In the end, this means that it will be a little more difficult to use on these models but not at all uncompatible.
Diskwarrior is a powerful maintenance tool and until no one develops AppleJack for Leopard it's the only way to keep the filesystem clean.

Thanks, Guest. You're absolutely right, and we've made the article clearer in this regard. Much appreciated.
