German-English Dictionary Released for Leopard

by , 4:10 PM EDT, March 20th, 2008

Lipflip.org has released an installer package for the dict.cc version of a German-English dictionary. The installer, compatible only with Leopard, installs the dictionary into Leopard's Dictionary.app.

After installation, the dictionary is enabled in the preferences of the Dictionary.app. In addition to normal use in the Dictionary application, users can right-click the unknown word in any Cocoa App and select "Dictionary". Alternatively one can select CTRL+CMD+D and move the mouse cursor over the words a sentence for translation.

The installer is licensed under the GPL and the actual dictionary has its own license. The German-English dictionary for Leopard is free.

I haven't installed OS 10.5.x yet, hence cannot comment, however
reading the German translation for "disappear" I would also
recommend http://leo.org/ http://www.leo.org/index_en.html
it is a FREE German (Munich) site for english, french and spanish

German (my mother-tongue) is not an easy language, and I refer
often to several on-line dictionaries, and some of my old hard
cover dictionaries, as even "leo.org" fails me at times.
