Apple Retail Stores Closed On Easter Sunday

Apple Retail Stores Closed On Easter Sunday

by , 1:50 PM EDT, March 20th, 2008

A check of Apple stores in Colorado shows that all five stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, March 23rd. Apple customers may want to check with their local store to verify that for their own location.

You can find out about local Apple store hours by going to Apple's retail store Web page and, under "Find an Apple Store," select the state and location popups.

Randomly chosen stores in California indicate the same announcement, so the closing likely applies to all the Apple retail stores in the U.S.

That's okay, we'll have snow anyways.

Good day to stay bundled up indoors with your AppleTV rentals.

The San Diego Fashion Valley Store is also closed. It is supposed to be a real nice weekend here so perhaps some hiking is in order, spring flowers are blooming.

I wonder what their motivation is behind this? Did they close the stores in previous years? If not, why are they doing it now... just curious, I would like to know what is the thinking behind this decision.

If the other shops in the malls are closed on Easter Sunday then the Apple Stores may not get enough traffic to warrant being opened.

It does seem like an odd decision since Apple Stores will draw enough of a crowd themselves to make opening well worth it, especially when the public are unrestricted by work. In the UK at least it is a huge shopping day. They have always opened in the past right?

The rumor mill will say that it's going to be a training day for a huge announcement on Tuesday, but I have to wonder how big of an announcement could be possible in the next couple of months.

How about because it's Easter Sunday, and they might want to give their employees the day off? Heck, even the Target stores around here are closed on Easter Sunday.
