Apple Running New Interactive Webpage Ads
Apple Running New Interactive Webpage Ads
by , 3:40 PM EDT, March 21st, 2008
Apple is once again running interactive Webpage ads with Justin Long and John Hodgman in the sidebar, reacting to a banner. This time, the PC-guy doesn't like the banner, and he keeps changing it, hoping to get a better take on Vista. No such luck.
The ad is currently running at ZDNet and possibly other locations.
Yesterday, it was reported that Apple is using the iTunes updater in Windows to expose users to the Safari browser. While some have expressed concern about the way Apple does that, there's no question that Apple is more and more making is presence felt on Windows own home turf. The recent market share reports suggest that Apple's marketing strategy, backed by its products, is succeeding.
Observer Comments
This is the second time these kinds of ads have been run by Apple. The first time I saw it on the NYT website and then a few hours later on the news. Getting the ad in there is one huge thing, making it so clever makes it stick/become viral - but getting it into so many mainstream media news segments is even bigger surely.
here is the one on the New York Times homepage....
