Sonnet Improves MacCuff mini Security

Sonnet Technologies announced the immediate availability of a new version of the MacCuff mini on Tuesday. The new version of the Mac mini mounting bracket for LCD displays offers improved security to help prevent computer theft.


MacCuff mini

The updated version of the MacCuff mini includes a steel locking bar designed to work with a user supplied lock. It also includes a 33cm DVI-to-VGA cable, screws for VESA mounting, wood screws for under desk mounting, and cable ties.

The MacCuff mini is priced at US$49.95.

If you have a Mini and have a VESA compatible monitor, it's only $50 to build your own iMac.

Except, no improved GPU.
Except, the hard drive of the Mini is unlikely to be formatted to work well vertically.
Except the number of Firewire ports is limited, no iSight, and CPU is slower.
Except the line of sight to for the Front Row remote may be restricted.
Except the speakers on the Mini are lousy compared to the iMac.
Except the RAM is not upgradeable to 4 GB.
Except the hard drive can't be upgraded to 1 TB.

This is not an iMac.
