NAB - FirmTek Announces SeriTek/SpyderHUB for MacBook Air

by , 11:45 AM EDT, April 15th, 2008

LAS VEGAS - FirmTek announced the SeriTek/SpyderHUB at NAB on Tuesday. The hub includes FireWire, eSATA and USB ports along with support for hardware RAID, and is designed to compliment the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and other laptop computers.

The SeriTek/SpyderHUB weighs four ounces and is small enough to travel with and can be bus powered so that users don't have to travel with an extra power adapter. It includes a single USB 2.0 port, two FireWire 800 ports, and two bootable eSATA ports. FireWire 400 devices are supported, too, but require a FireWire 800 to 400 adapter.

It also supports JBOD and hardware RAID 0/Concatenate modes, is SATA II compliant, and includes a Kensington security lock port.

The SeriTek/SpyderHUB will be available by the end of the second quarter of 2008. Pricing has not been announced yet.
