Second Gear Launches Today 1.0, iCal & Mail Interface

by , 3:25 PM EDT, April 22nd, 2008

Second Gear Software announced the immediate availability of Today, an event and task management application for Leopard that can access and summarize Apple's iCal and Mail program events and tasks in a small desktop window.

Built on top of the same data engine as Apple's iCal and Mail programs, Today allows the user to quickly see what events and tasks are on today's agenda with the click of a button. The results are displayed in a small, easily browsed window. It also integrates seamlessly with Apple's .Mac Web service.

In addition, the user can add new events and tasks without having to keep Mail or iCal open. Anything created is automatically synced with Mail, iCal and an iPhone if connected.

Today 1.0 is a Universal Application and requires Mac OS X 10.5.2 or later. It is priced at US$14.95.

There are two dashboard widgets that when used together already do this. And better still they are free downloads.

Subject: deleting event in today

love 'today' with a couple exceptions: first, cannot delete events without opening ical and doing it there...seems silly, since you can add events via 'today'. also, i edited an event on my ical and noticed it did not change the event in 'today', even though i did it over an hour ago.
