by , 8:00 AM EDT, May 20th, 2008

SmileOnMyMac announced the immediate availability of TextExpander 2.2 on Tuesday. The update for the abbreviation expander application added a predefined group for CSS code snippets and now supports Dictate from MacSpeech.

Version 2.2 also set "adapt to case" limits for lowercase snippets and abbreviations with two or more characters, and disables abbreviation expansion after typing Shift-Space.

TextExpander 2.2 is priced at US$29.95 and is available for download at the SmileOnMyMac Web site. The update is free for version 1 and version 2 users.
