Prosoft Announces Leopard Boot DVDs

by , 2:55 PM EDT, June 3rd, 2008

Prosoft Engineeringannounced Leopard Boot DVDs for its Data Rescue II and Drive Genius 2 products on Tuesday. Previously, the technology for Leopard Boot DVDs was not available to developers.

"We are really excited that Apple has now released the Leopard Boot technology to third-party developers, which allows us to add booting support for all the latest Macs,"” said Prosoft President Greg Brewer. “Prosoft Engineering said that it is the first developer known to ship these new Leopard Boot DVDs”

Current owners of Data Rescue II and Drive Genius 2 qualify to receive these new Boot DVDs for free. Details on how to receive these DVDs at no cost to current owners may be found here:

Subject: How long

If they've released the boot information, how long until somebody has a working Boot of OSX on any old PC brought to the market?

Interesting turn of events.
