Firefox 3 RC2 Release Imminent, with Minor Tweaks
by , 12:40 PM EDT, June 4th, 2008
The Mozilla Group announced on Wednesday that they have elected to release RC2 of Firefox 3 prior to the final releases expected in mid-June. The release has just a few additional fixes since RC1 and should be posted some time on Wednesday.
"The Firefox 3 development team has decided to produce a new Release Candidate of Firefox 3 before shipping. This should not change the final shipping date, still estimated for mid-June, but will allow a small number of additional fixes for issues discovered during the RC1 cycle. Many of the issues to be fixed in RC2 have already been patched, reviewed, approved and landed. Several localization updates have also been accepted," the Mozilla Group said.
The Release Candidate 2 is expected to be posted on Wednesday, but as of this writing, the download page has not been updated from RC1.

I have tried Firefox 3 and found it wanting. I will uninstall it and go back to the earlier version. Almost everything I tried to do was done worse than in Firefox 2 but the last straw dropped when I tried to organize my bookmarks. Instead of getting a full listing of my personal bookmarks with URLs of each, I got a bunch of manu items about toolbars and Yahoo bookmarks and god knows what else.
The bookmark orgamizer you had before was simple, clear and complete. I could rename every mark and relocate any at will. Now I can't even find the list.
Why the hell don't you people leave well enough alone?
