Firefox 3.0 Release Scheduled for Tuesday

The Mozilla Group has announced that the official release of Firefox 3.0 will be posted on Tuesday, June 17th. The release completes 34 months of active development.

Mozilla hopes to set a Guinness World Record for One Day downloads. Almost 1.4 million people have pledged to download the official launch version. It will be available simultaneously for Mac OS X, Linux and Windows.

Meanwhile, the Mozilla developers are already at work on Firefox version 3.1 which is in pre-release alpha. A feature list and schedule for 3.1 has been published at the Mozilla wiki.
