Apple Trackpad Secrets and Technical History

There are up to ten different trackpad functions, depending on the Apple notebook model, and not everyone is familiar with all of them, according to Ryan Faas at Computerworld on Monday. Some must be enabled from system preferences and some were secret features on older Macs.
In addition to the technical timeline of Apple's trackpad technology, first introduced with the PowerBook 500, Mr. Faas discussed every function that modern trackpads have.
There are basic one-finger functions, two-finger functions and multitouch gestures. The article has pointers to multitouch tutorials and mentions software that augments the trackpad functions even further.
Apple customers who haven't had a chance to explore the full functionality of the modern Apple trackpad will find the article a great tutorial on how to make the most of this technology on their PowerBook or MacBook.
