LAS VEGAS, NV -- MXL introduced several new mics at this week's New Media Expo. Mike Descher, Sales and Business Development Manager, gave TMO an overview of the new mics.

The first is the MXL USB.009 24-Bit Professional Microphone. This is a 24-bit/96 kHz feature-rich USB microphone for the professional broadcast and music industry. It is USB powered, requiring no external power. It is USB 1.1 and 2.0 compatible, and features on-board controls for mixing, an analog gain control before the A/D, and a headphone jack and volume control. There's also a cool blue LED inside the mic. The MXL USB.009 retails for $399.

Rounding out the new mics is the MXL Genesis, their new flagship microphone. This microphone actually has a tube inside of it, offering performance that simply can't be matched by digital technology. It has a host of other impressive features, such as a 6 micron gold-sputtered diaphragm, and a 20 Hz – 20 kHz frequency response. The MXL Genesis is priced at $595.
