Abilene Christian Will Give all Freshman iPhone 3Gs or iPod touch

Abilene Christian University will give every one of its 950 incoming freshmen either an iPhone 3G or and iPod touch this weekend, according to the Dallas News on Friday.

A statement from the university said that this is the first time the school has distributed mobile devices as learning tools

Apple and AT&T representatives, amongst other technology industry leaders, will be on campus this weekend for the launch.

While the students will be supplied with the Apple hardware, those who opt for an iPhone 3G will be responsible for setting up and paying for their own service contracts.
