Equinux Announces Stationary Pack 2 for Apple's Mail

by , 11:35 AM EDT, September 18th, 2008

Equinux announced Thursday Stationary Pack 2, a collection of stationary templates for Apple's Mail for Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard." The new collection contains more than 660 e-mail designs that can be derived from 122 templates.

Leopard's Mail features Stationary designs for those not content for ye olde plain text e-mails, and Stationary Pack 2 joins other collections on the market of third party templates.

the company ships the collection with browsing software that breaks the templates into seven categories and allows for keyword searching and filtered browsing. For templates that use your photos, users can insert images from iPhoto, Aperture, or a folder from the Finder.

Stationery Pack 2 is available now for US$49.95. It will be available in retail stores "soon."

Subject: Stationary stationery...

Indeed. To my knowledge, stationery templates are in general stationary. I don't recall having seen -- or seen any mention of -- templates that include mobile elements. So why would it be newsworthy that these stationery templates are stationary (like all others to date) as opposed to mobile? What are the barriers to mobile versus stationary stationery templates? Problems with displaying animated GIGs? Use of Flash? Some other factors conspiring in favour of stationery templates being stationary?

Subject: Cool, a pack that doesn't move

I hate those packs that jump around. At last, here's one that keeps still!
