OWC Announces Memory Upgrade Kits for New MacBooks

OWC Announces Memory Upgrade Kits for New MacBooks

by , 12:05 PM EDT, October 15th, 2008

Other World Computing (OWC) announced on Wednesday 4 GB memory upgrade kits for the new MacBook and MacBook Pro. The matched 2 x 2 GB modules are just starting to ship. 5,400 RPM and 7,200 RPM drives are also available.

The modules add to the line of memory upgrade kits already available for all of Apple's previous MacBooks. The DDR3 2 x 2 GB upgrade kit is priced at US$139.99

OWC is also offering a DDR2 2 x 2 GB upgrade kit for the still shipping white 2.1 GHz MacBook for US$69.99.

Customers can also get cash back for trading in their original Apple memory at the rate of US$7.50 per gigabyte. That's $15 off the price of the 4 GB kit for the new MacBooks, or $124.99, when trading in Apple's factory 2 GB.

In addition, OWC noted that they also offer MacBook and MacBook Pro owners a full selection of 5400 RPM and 7200 RPM internal hard drive options in capacities up to 500 GB to upgrade/replace their factory stock drives. Prices start at $59.99 for a 200G B 5400 RPM drive, with the most popular upgrades including a 320 GB 7200 RPM drive priced at $119.99 and a 500 GB 5400 RPM drive priced at $179.99.

To order the new memory, visit OWC's online shopping site.
