CodeWeavers Offers CrossOver for Free on Oct 28

by , 8:10 AM EDT, October 28th, 2008

CodeWeavers is offering its CrossOver Pro product for free on Tuesday, October 28 because the gas price in St. Paul dropped to US$2.79 a gallon. CrossOver is an application that lets users run Windows application on Mac OS X or Linux without installing Microsoft's operating system.

CodeWeavers has a special Web page for the free software offer, but interest is high, so expect to try more than once to get a serial number.

Current CrossOver Standard users can also upgrade to the Pro version for free and will get an addition 12 months of support. CrossOver Pro is regularly priced at US$69.95.

Demand has been so high that they now have links to fully unlocked versions of CrossOver Mac Pro and Linux Pro, as well as CrossOver Games for Mac and Linux. They do not even need serial numbers.

They are true to their promise (that's what comes from shooting their mouths off). Crossover Pro and Crossover Games for both Mac and Linux are FREE today.

Jeremy White, president and CEO of CodeWeave may be a bit of a flake, but he keeps his word!

Maybe he should run for public office. Wouldn't that be refreshing? Someone who doesn't choke on the taste of his own feet but follows through despite the cloying taint of toe jam.

I hope the software is as good as Jeremy White's word.

I have installed both Half Life 2: Episode 1 and Lord of the Rings Online in CrossOver Games, and they work great. You have to jump through a couple of simple hoops for LotRO, but it works. And I have Half Life 2 running at the full 1440x900 with everything maxed, settings wise.
