Adobe Camera Raw 5.2 Adds New Camera Support

by , 8:50 AM EST, November 25th, 2008

Adobe released Camera Raw 5.2 on Tuesday. The update for the Camera Raw support plug-in for Photoshop and Photoshop Elements added support for several new cameras.

The update added compatibility support for the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon PowerShot G10, Panasonic DMC-G1, Panasonic DMC-FX150, Panasonic DMC-FZ28, Panasonic DMC-LX3, and Leica D-LUX 4. DNG files from the new Panasonic and Leica cameras, however, will be about three times larger than their original files from other cameras to ensure that the files render properly.

Adobe Camera Raw 5.2 is compatible with Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop Elements 7. It is free and available for download at the Adobe Support Web site.

Subject: Raw 5.2 is compatible with Photoshop CS4 ???

Does that mean CS3 users can't have this new Raw support update?

Looks like it might be time to start working on an Adobe substitute, this company has been slowly giving less and less to Mac users and taking more and more. Greed decadence and pure "don't give a #@!$" attitude will sink you Adobe. Be sure of that.

Most software upgrades are only supported for the current version, regardless of vendor. A Mac user, of all people, should know that.

Subject: Many CS3 users won't upgrade...

CS4 is a recent upgrade that many CS3 users don't want to opt for...An Adobe user, of all people should know that.
