Find Out Where Your Stuff Is with Package Tracker
February 14th, 2000

Package Tracker 1.0 ($12 Shareware)
Intelli Innovations, Inc.

Although the state of Mac retail stores (such as the cool CompUSA we saw during Macworld) is improving, there are still some real stinkers out there. Fortunately, just about any Mac product you can think of is available via mail order. Fire up a site such as MacBuy.com and you'll be ordering stuff in no time. The only downside is that you have to wait for your stuff. If only you could find out exactly where your goodies are...

Package Tracker eliminates the tedium of having to go to each shipper's web site to track your package. Instead, you can perform one-time tracking requests for Airborne, FedEx, UPS and USPS shipments. Although the level of detail varies, you should at least be able to tell if the package left the shipping dock, and if it has arrived in your area. Some systems also provide progress reports, so you know exactly where things are.

Your Toys Have Been Delivered!

But this is where Package Tracker goes beyond being just a browser front end. It also has a Tracking Manager mode. By clicking on the Add button in the Tracking Manager, you will be asked for an item name, a tracking number, and the shipper. This value will be saved so you can access it the next time you run Package Tracker, and eliminate the need for finding that scrap of paper you wrote the tracking number on. This mode is also great for those who are shipping stuff, and want a quick way to make sure everything has gone out. There are also buttons that will let you Modify, Delete or View an individual entry.
