Sure, there's a wealth of news available on the Internet, but busy Observers, especially those with modem connections, may not want to dig through every page to find the top headlines. If only there was a way to scan sites for major headlines, and have them displayed on your desktop…

The good folks at Trexar have created MacHeadlines, an application that will scan news sites, display the headlines in a scrolling ticker, and allow you to double-click on the headline to get the complete story. You can control the appearance, placement and speed of the ticker.

A wealth of sites are already included, but you may want to add more, such as The Mac Observer. Never fear! You can use MacHeadlines Site Format (MHSF) to define how to extract headline information from a web page.

Keep track of what's happening in the world with MacHeadlines.
