DV Dailies - Canopus Announces New Realtime MPEG Video Converter/Distro

Canopus has announced a new device for realtime video conversion called the MediaEdge-LEB. The MediaEdge-LEB is a standalone device designed for converting an analog video signal into MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 formats for distribution on a LAN network.

The device, according to Canopus, is ideal for live event broadcast when broadcasting from a single network. The device supports both PAL and NTSC video and can be used in conjunction with MediaEdge-SVS2 server, which currently is only available for PCs however.

You can find more information about the MediaEdge-LEB at the Canopus Web site. MediaEdge-LEB will begin shipping later this month, pricing information is currently unavailable.
