DV Dailies - Sony Announces 2 New DVCAM Camcorders

Sony Electronics has announced the release of new models in the DVCAM line of camcorders. The DSR-400 and the DSR-450WS camcorders feature 2/3-inch PowerHAD EX CCD imaging sensors which record in both DVCAM and DV modes. The DSR-450WS is a wide-screen model that can capture images in 60i at 24PsF, 25PsF (PAL model only) and 30PsF. The DSR-400 features a 4:3 version of the Power HAD EX CCD. Both camcorders ship with 2.5 inch flip-out LCD screens, adjustable shoulder pads, and menu assignable side mounted switches.
You can find out more information about the DSR-400 and the DSR-450WS camcorders at the Sony Electronics Web site. The DSR-400 will be available in March for US$10,800.00 or US$12,700.00 with a Fujinon 17x lens. The DSR-450WS is expected to ship in the spring for US$18,00.00.
