MACWORLD Expo - Expo Traffic Rockin', Lots Of Smiling Faces

by , 4:25 PM EDT, July 20th, 2000

This year's MACWORLD Expo traffic started off strong on Wednesday, and has continued to be high today. Turnout was predicted to be high because of record pre-registration and vendor involvement, and the show floor reality has born this out. IDG Expos has not released official attendance as of yet, but judging by our informal observations, we expect them to announce record numbers. Booths, crowded to the point where getting around the show floor was difficult most of the time, have continued to see enormous numbers of people crowding around. Many booths had overflow spilling out into the aisles. The resurgent Mac market can surely be credited for much of the excitement, but Steve Jobs' keynote address and Apple's exciting new products have also helped. At any moment, one can usually find two or three rows of people crowded around the G4 Cube with 4-5 cameras aimed at it at all times. Reactions to Apple's new iMac colors have also been positive.

The Mac Observer Spin:

Lots of folks. Seriously. The show has been great and all we see are happy, smiling faces.
