Posted: Wed Aug 21, 2002 6:32 pm — 10.2 shipping and arrival
For quite some time, my Apple Store account has said that my copy of Mac OS X version 10.2 was still being assembled. About half an hour ago, it was "fully shipped." (Edit: This means it has left Apple's shipping facility. It is not at my house yet.)
Feel free to post here when yours has shipped and also when it has arrived at your house/workplace.
Also, it is interesting to note that my carrier is listed as Airborne, yet they provided me with a FedEx tracking number. Has Apple upgraded peoples' shipping again like they did with 10.0?

I checked 30 seconds ago and my order has gone from being reviewed to being assembled. That was at 00:39 CET (6:39 PM EST). I hope Apple will move their butt so I can have it by Saturday, but I'm not sure the parcel service they use delivers on Saturdays. UPS does, but if they ship it with regular mail, or use another carrier, I might get it Monday. I'm really anxious, I'm hoping, I'm happy. Just get my Jaguar here before Monday 26 August @ 09:00 coz I need to be in school by then. If only I could get my PowerBook updated before Monday. (I placed my order 17 July).

My order of 10.2 appeared in the FedEx tracking system in the last hour or so. It says the service type is "FedEx 2Day Service." (As I noted in my first message, I did not order two-day service.)
Either it'll be here early (Friday), or it was picked up late enough in the day that it will get here Saturday (as I had originally expected.) I hope it gets here Friday, but I probably shouldn't get my hopes up.
Edit: I just noticed that FedEx received the package from Apple at 1:30 today. That would definitely be early enough in the day for it to get here Friday (with two-day shipping.)

Mine shows FedEx two day as well, although I didn't order it either. The shipping cost is cheap enough, though.

I think it's reasonable for you to get it Friday, since they will now be selling it Friday night. Enjoy!

Posted: Thu Aug 22, 2002 9:39 am — FedEx shows delivery for TODAY!!
Mine shipped yesterday. FedEx Tracking shows that it is out for delivery--TODAY.
I could be the first kid on the block with the new toy. Now I just have to figure out whether I want to do an upgrade install or a full re-do. I also have the partition for OS 9 that I should probably get rid of also.
I will let you know how it goes.

Waaah, I'm not expecting mine until next tuesday.
The price of ordering from MacConnection. Ah well, at least it was cheaper...

I love FedEx! I'm not ending up with Jaguar today, but I sent out a 2-day package both yesterday and Tuesday, and both of them arrived in just one day. Nice that they don't dally around with them. It helps that it was close proximity (Washington, DC) I'm sure.
Hey Aviduser, where did it ship from and where to, if you don't mind my asking? Just curious.

I just checked the FedEx tracking page for Jaguar and a new video card (GeForce4MX) that I ordered and they're both "On FedEx vehicle for delivery." This is too much excitement for one day. I don't know if I can take it!

And how did you manage to only pay $69.00 for it?!

$69.99 is the educationally discounted price. Teachers and university students can order through the Apple Store for Education at http://www.apple.com/education/store

I ordered 12 copies at $59 each. Educational Volume Pricing. For 10-99 copies, it is $59. For 100-1000 copies, it is $49.
Won't get mine till next week sometime. But for those kinds of savings, it's worth it.
