Macgamestore.com announced the immediate availability of Hoyle Card Games for the Mac as a digital download. The game includes over 150 different card games along with tips and strategies.


Hoyle Card Games for the Mac

Users can create their own player characters with unique faces and clothes, play against interactive computer opponents, and play at different skill levels. Over 75 multiplayer card games are available like Texas Hold'em, Hearts, Bridge, Crazy Eights, Gin Rummy, and Omaha Hold'em. 55 solo games are also available.

Hoyle Card Games is priced at US$19.95 and is available for download at the Macgamestore.com Web site.

Tue Mar 25, 2008 2:14 pm Subject: Caveat Emptor - Look for Patch

The boxed (retail) version of Hoyle Card Games has a bug: the hands dealt are not random - you'll sometimes see the exact same hands over and over.

Encore has released a patch for this software, but it was only for the Windows version (last I saw). Make sure the Mac version is also patched.

Maybe somebody from Encore could respond. . .

Chas is absolutely right. If you select the same opponent and the same game, you will get the same card sequence. I'm getting really good at playing a particular sequence of Cribbage hands, but it does lack a certain challenge after awhile.

Oh...and the tech support at Hoyle Card Games is virtually non-existent. They may have tech support people, but they don't answer their emails.
