Mac Gaming News - Digital Download Service Mac Games Arcade to Launch in December

by , 2:45 PM EST, November 14th, 2008

Macgamestore.com on Friday announced that its digital download service, Mac Games Arcade, is in Beta and will launch in December. Anyone who wants to be a Beta tester is encouraged to visit the Mac Games Arcade web site and submit an application.

The service works as a free application that allows gamers to download digital copies of games sold at Macgamestore.com, which is affiliated with the news site Inside Mac Games. Users can buy and download games from within the software as well as check out demos, write reviews, and maintain a library of their digital purchases. Users can easily reinstall any game from their purchase history by clicking on it. Mac Games Arcade also auto-registers all games, so users don't have to enter serial numbers before they can start playing.

The software works on any PowerPC or Intel Mac running Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or higher.
