The Myth World Cup '99 (MWC99) is a tournament for the online multiplayer game Myth II: Soulblighter, published by Bungie Software. Teams of players will enter the tournament, fight it out on Bungie's online gaming service bungie.net, and in the end one of them will take home the Myth World Cup.

MWC99 is the spiritual successor to Butcher's tournament for Myth: The Fallen Lords, the Myth World Cup '98. MWC98 was the largest team tournament for Myth:TFL, and it broke new ground by providing detailed coverage of matches, an extensive statistics-tracking system, and a rich backstory. The aim of MWC99 is to raise the bar once more by surpassing MWC98 in every aspect, to craft a truly fun tournament both for players and for fans.

In order to do so, we have brought together a team comprising some of the best organisers, writers and web designers in the Myth community. The Myth World Cup is back again, this time with an enhanced double-elimination tournament structure, more variety in maps and games, expanded and clarified rules, faster and more detailed match reviewing, an exciting new backstory that merges with the Myth II story, use of exclusive tournament rooms on bungie.net, and bigger prizes.
