For several reasons, the MWC99 staff have fallen behind processing the registration emails that are flooding in. So we need to push the registration deadline back a few days to give us more time.
Because there is a large backlog of registration email, we can't say exactly how many orders have entered MWC99. There are currently 35 teams finished and up on the website, about 30-40 full entries awaiting processing, and about 20 orders with partial entries or expressions of interest.
This means that there are still places left for orders who enter quickly. If you don't have time to get the images and player bios together before the registration deadline (now 9pm Tuesday), just send the order's information and a list of names and logins. The rest can be updated later.
If all goes well, the Qualifying Round assignments will be posted on Wednesday morning.

As I write this, it's 6pm Friday here in New Zealand, and I am leaving for the weekend; I will be out of touch until Monday. So don't be alarmed if mail sent to mwc99-manager doesn't get answered immediately.
I plan to complete the registration process when I get back. In the meantime, MWC99 staff will be available on the Discussion Board to answer your questions.

We've finally got the go-ahead from our advertising gurus at the Mac Observer to let you all know what you're competing for (besides honor, glory and the acclaim of your peers).
Check out the prizes section of the Rules for full details on the goodies. Or, read the full press release on the Mac Observer site.

So far, eleven teams have successfully completed registration for MWC99, with about another fifteen expressing interest. If your order is still compiling the information for registration, be sure to drop us a line expressing interest, so that you can save your place in line.
One additional detail about the screenshots that we require... we're not fixated on screenshots. All that we want to do with them is cut out a little 150x17 GIF image for each player's name. If you want to do this yourselves, that's great, it saves us the trouble. It also avoids compression artifacts from JPG format (check out the Ta'veren's team page for an example).

The story behind the Myth World Cup unfolds before our eyes. In Muirthemne and across the lands, sixteen teams compete fiercely to take home the Cup and win the acclaim of their peers. The road to the Cup begins... now.
The MWC99 website has an extensive Story section that covers the latest breaking news from the field. With over sixty articles written or in the planning stages, the updates will be coming thick and fast in the months to come. Check the Story pages every couple of days to see what's happened in your absence...

The Myth World Cup '99 is now open for registration. Take a look
around, and you'll see that this is going to be a tournament that your
order can't afford to miss out on. Orders that competed in MWC98 will
be given priority registration, but all others will be awarded places
on a first come, first served basis.
There are ninety-six places available. Registration instructions
are available from the Entry section of the
website. So what are you waiting for?

We've been working on MWC99 behind the scenes for several months,
but now it's time for the next phase to start: the actual tournament itself.
In order to pull this off, we're going to need some help.
If you enjoy watching films and like critiquing others'
strategy, then we want your help! There are going to be a huge
number of matches in MWC99 that we need to review. And so we're going
to need a lot of reviewers. You can put in as much or as little effort
as you want; dabble with one match a week, or be a reviewing machine.
Ask any of our MWC98 reviewers; it's a lot of fun!
MWC99's tournament structure means that there are going to be
a lot of orders turning up on bungie.net at the same time in the
weekends. We're going to need assistant judges to help us keep track
of who's where and who's playing who. If you like to organise people
and have spare time in the weekends, get in touch with us.
Lastly, writing the MWC99 storyline is a lot of fun. We may
have room for one or two additional writers, so if you want to try
your hand at crafting an intricate backstory drop us a line (include a
sample piece of writing that ties into the MWC99 story somehow).
All enquiries should be directed to the Tournament Manager.
